Earlier in January, there was an announcement made that Las Vegas Sands would pursue the development of a multi-billion-dollar casino, hospitality, and entertainment project at the Nassau Coliseum Site. As East residents, we have concerns and questions regarding the proposal and its potential impact on our community. We

are working to gather additional information for residents and trying to set up a Town Hall meeting with experts and elected officials so we can all hear more about the proposal.

UPDATE: RESULTS 

Hundreds of responses were received within 24 hours, showing how important this issue is to community members. The survey results were shared at last week’s joint POA meeting and indicated that the size/scope of the project and future of the Coliseum were the two leading issues residents want to learn more about. Not surprisingly, traffic and crime were, by far, the biggest concerns about the project.
