UPDATE: Casino Development Resident Feedback Survey : Results

Earlier in January, there was an announcement made that Las Vegas Sands would pursue the development of a multi-billion-dollar casino, hospitality, and entertainment project at the Nassau Coliseum Site. The company entered into agreements to purchase the long-term lease of the site. For more information, please see Las Vegas Sands Press Release and Newsday Article.

As East residents, we have concerns and questions regarding the proposal and its potential impact on our community. We

are working to gather additional information for residents and trying to set up a Town Hall meeting with experts and elected officials so we can all hear more about the proposal.

To this end, we ask that residents complete the following brief survey to help us gather valuable feedback on what questions and concerns you have about the proposal at the Nassau Coliseum Site.

UPDATE: RESULTS

Hundreds of responses were received within 24 hours, showing how important this issue is to community members. The survey results were shared at last week’s joint POA meeting and indicated that the size/scope of the project and future of the Coliseum were the two leading issues residents want to learn more about. Not surprisingly, traffic and crime were, by far, the biggest concerns about the project.
