LIRR Service Changes and Hilton Ave. Crossing Closures Set for Multiple Weekends Starting May 30
Weather dependent, during the weekends of May 30-31, June 6-7, 13-14, 27-28, July 18-19, 25-26, August 1-2, 8-9 and 15-16, the LIRR will continue its signal upgrades between Floral Park and Queens Village stations as part of the Queens Interlocking project. The LIRR will also be taking advantage of this outage to rehabilitate the Hilton Avenue grade crossing. This weekend from Saturday, May 30th at 12:15 a.m. until Monday, June 1st at 3:30 a.m. the following changes will be in effect as the LIRR installs a switch in between Elmont UBS Arena and Queens Village Stations:
Hempstead Trains:
Hempstead trains run between Floral Park and Hempstead only.
Transfer at Floral Park for Huntington or Ronkonkoma Branch trains to and from Manhattan.
For Elmont-UBS Arena:
Westbound service will be available on Huntington and Ronkonkoma trains.
NICE Bus will accept LIRR tickets for eastbound travel from Jamaica.
Hilton Avenue Grade Crossing:
LIRR will complete the final paving work at the Hilton Avenue crossing.
Crews will be on site from 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 29th through approximately 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 30th.
This final paving work will complete the recent crossing rehabilitation, which included asphalt paving between the rails and installation of new concrete crossing panels.
